Welcome to Level two! We’re nearly there, but not out of the woods yet – so please continue to be mindful as restrictions abate.
Everyone loves a catch phrase, so ….“stay safe and be kind!”
As we continue to navigate these uncharted waters, the team at Property 101 Group want to extend our thanks for all your continued patience and support.
Under Level two we will continue to operate both remotely and from our Parnell office. We will be following Government guidelines including limiting numbers, social distancing, and all visits will be by appointment only to ensure we can meet protocols and keep everyone safe. There will be increased cleaning and sanitisation, and we are implementing both digital QR code and manual registration contact tracing for all.
As you will be aware, we have been working with ADLS and NZLS to lobby government to validate electronic/remote meetings. As discussed with Minister Woods, the House were keen to discuss temporary law changes to address the impact of COVID-19. These included a change to the Unit Titles Act 2010 to allow members to attend meetings via audio or audio-visual means.
This has been taken on board with some success & last week the Select Committee reported back, and they have adopted the changes we requested in our submissions. Breaking news this morning, MBIE have advised us the Bill amending the UTA was given royal assent on Friday just gone, and is now law (albeit temporary for now) and can be found here as an Act of parliament – See Schedule 12.
So I am pleased to confirm that the COVID-19 Response (Further Management Measures) Legislation Act has now come into force:

No word on the Incorporated Societies Act yet.
With regard to multi-unit complexes, common areas and facilities will be available and we note:
Gatherings must…
- Have no more than ten people.
- Not be longer than two hours.
- Keep high hygiene standards.
Please remember:
- Social distancing still applies.
- Preferably stick to a bubble of fewer people as you live/work in a confined space.
- Contract tracing and recording where you have been.
- Stay home if unwell.
- Use your hand sanitizer or wash hands before you leave and upon re-entering your unit.
- Sanitise all common areas/facilities before and after use.
It’s a different time for us now, and we have all taken different things away from the last couple of months. We have woken up our imaginations, reconnected with friends & neighbours, embraced technology, and eaten more than our fair share of feijoas! It has actually been really nice on many levels. Most of all, as a universe we have embraced a new mantra – be safe & be kind. We continue to be grateful for those in essential services and/or the front line that have kept our fabulous little country running.
As things progress, our role has evolved, and I am so thankful for our dynamic team and to partner with such amazing clients. We continue to tailor and adapt our services as needed.
As the social fabric we knew changes before us on a scale we never imagined, our communities continue to be under an immense amount of stress. We are conscious of considering carefully practical solutions in these challenging times and retaining community spirit/harmony and relationships in close knit environments. Please do continue to be both compassionate and considerate. The priority around health obligations & government-imposed restrictions remain the priority, so please wash thy hands, save thy water, and of course, love thy neighbour!
Kind Regards,
Joanne Barreto – Director (BProp NZPI PCNZ SCANZ)
